Yeah you did read that correctly! 1980's favourite Teddy Ruxpin is making a return in a big way in Autumn 2017. Wicked Cool Toys are bringing him back to a new generation of kids with a combination of original values and cutting edge technology. Expect a large toy range and hopefully another TV series late next year! In the meantime why not indulge with a retro advert rewind.....

Good Grief! Everyone loves Snoopy and Charlie Brown (whether they admit it or not!) so it's brilliant news for me that the famous beagle and the rest of the Peanuts gang are starring in a new movie, out just before Christmas!

Snoopy and Charlie Brown - The Peanuts Movie is the full name and is far too long for a title in my opinion! (worn out just reading it). In the movie, Charlie Brown goes on a life changing quest (sounds intriguing) and Snoopy goes up against the Red Baron, his nemisis (so as normal then!)

Arriving on 21st December, it's an amazing early Christmas present for everyone even if those 3D glasses are kinda annoying to wear!

It's not very original but mine was and is a large and soft Donald Duck toy which I've had for many years. It is about to be loved all over again in the new year by a couple of new arrivals into the world as well!

Seemingly, I'm not the only person to have kept hold of this as a new survey from Argos and Barnardo's reveals that 25% of adults in the UK still own at least one of their favourite childhood toys.

The survey is in connection to the Argos Toy Exchange which means that if you donate pre loved toys to Barnardo's, you can receive a £5 off voucher when you spend £35 at Argos.

The question is could you bear to part with your long loved toys? It's all for a brilliant cause of course but in some cases I'm not sure I could....

After yesterdays successful Star Wars Auction, Vectis Auctions today held another action containing a large amount of toys gained from Beeches Toy Shop.

Some of these auctions were for some very obscure Star Wars memorabilia, primarily, the promotional shelf strips, that go on the front of shelves holding Star Wars toys.

These shelf strips are usually given to the retailer free to help promote the manufacturers products. And usually thrown away at some point.

Fortunately these were found in the back of the Beeches Toy Shop, which was closed in 2009, along with many of treasures, that are being auctioned by Vectis.

With a high demand for Star Wars memorabilia Vectis estimated these shelf strips to be worth £80 - £100, however they sold for a whopping £620.

Here at Duncans Toy Chest, we not only have an interest in current toys and trends, but also in retro toys. Vectis recently had an auction which included some great action figures and toys from The Real Ghostbusters.

The Real Ghostbusters is an animated television series created in 1986 as a spin-off to the 1984 movie Ghostbusters.

Although Kenner made created a toy line in 1986, the recent auction from Vectis featured the popular Ecto-1, which was released in the spring of 1987.

The Ecto1 on Ebay can fetch between £50 and £200 depending on condition. The Vectis action item was due to fetch between £30 - £40 but realised £70.

I wonder who brought it ;)
